How do I make sex as smooth as possible?

I am not a virgin by any means so please don't tell me I need to wait til I know what I am doing.. but my question is when I am about to have sex I often have trouble getting my penis into her vagina quickly, its always hard for me to find the opening and slide it in there since we are under covers. Could anyone give me tips on how to get my penis into the vagina as smoothly as possible to save the awkwardness. thank you
